What We do

  • Historic Salisbury Foundation assists with questions about historic buildings, sites and resources throughout Salisbury and Rowan County.

  • We have saved and protected approximately 110 historic structures with our revolving fund and preservation covenants, strengthening our historic neighborhoods.

  • We operate and maintain the Event Center at the 1908 Salisbury Passenger Station, which hosts many weddings and parties throughout the year.

  • We showcase local history at the 1820 Dr. Josephus Hall House for school children and group tours during the week and to the general public on the weekends.

  • We educate the public on history topics through special talks, tours and programs.

  • We have partnered with other organizations to provide special programs like the Rowan County History Course (with the Rowan Museum), Scrooge’s Trolley Tour (with Lee Street Theater and the Salisbury/Rowan County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau) and the annual Salisbury Sculpture Show (with the City of Salisbury), to name a few.

  • We advocate for the protection and revitalization of endangered historic buildings and neighborhoods.
