Recently, we had to remove several historic boxwood bushes from the grounds of the Hall House due to disease. Instead of discarding them, we saw an opportunity to repurpose these beloved bushes into something meaningful. Each pen is crafted from wood salvaged from these iconic bushes, which were originally planted by Mary Cowen Hall in 1860 and today handcrafted by the talented local artist Darrell Blackwelder.
By purchasing one of our boxwood pens, you're not only getting a beautifully crafted piece but also contributing to our conservation efforts. It's a way to preserve a piece of Hall House's history while also supporting sustainability to the community.
Classic Elite Fountain Pen
Custom, hand-turned on a lathe from Old English Boxwood collected from the Hall House in Salisbury. The pen has a medium nib. The pen utilizes regular pen cartridges which are easy to replace. The pen features a natural finish.

Slim Line Pen (Gold or Silver)
Silver or Gold. Pen custom turned on a lathe from Old English Boxwood collected from the Hall House in Salisbury. The pen uses Cross refills which can be purchased online or at local office supply stores.
Gold Comfort Pen
The pen is wider than the Slimline pen. The pen is custom-turned on a lathe from Old English Boxwood collected from the Hall House in Salisbury. The pen uses Cross refills which can be purchased online or at local office supply stores.
Start Order
Orders close on July 1st, 2024. The turnaround is 2-4 weeks; you will be contacted when your pen is crafted and ready for pickup.
