Historic Salisbury Foundation's Mission:
"To preserve, protect and revitalize the historic fabric of Salisbury and Rowan County."
What we do:
Historic Salisbury Foundation assists with questions about historic buildings, sites and resources throughout Salisbury and Rowan County.
We save and protect approximately 100 historic structures with our revolving fund and preservation covenants, strengthening our historic neighborhoods.
We operate and maintain the Event Center at the 1908 Salisbury Passenger Station, which hosts many weddings and parties throughout the year.
We showcase local history at the 1820 Dr. Josephus Hall House for school children and group tours during the week and to the general public on the weekends.
We educate the public on history topics through special talks, tours and programs.
We partner with other organizations to provide special programs like the Rowan County History Course (with the Rowan Museum), Scrooge's Trolley Tour (with Lee Street Theater and the Salisbury/Rowan County Convention and Visitor's Bureau) and the 2014 Salisbury Sculpture Show (with the City of Salisbury), to name a few.
We advocate for the protection and revitalization of endangered historic buildings and neighborhoods.
